A Sunday afternoon we called around 12:40pm to order a Grumpy’s salad To-Go. The waitress was unsure, if it was available. She checked and it was. We picked our salad up around 1pm got home and realized they gave us no dressing. This salad cost $17.50 for that price you should get 2 containers of dressing. Anyways I tried calling at 1:20pm to let them know my husband would be coming to pick up dressing no answer. My husband than had to go knock on the door to get poppyseed dressing this was 1:25pm. They are supposed to close at 2pm. The waitress answered said they closed early and they were running out of dressing not sure if they had any. She came back with a half filled cup and said that was all they had. My husband gets home dumps the salad into a bowl and finds rotten spinach. I reached out to Grumpy’s on Sunday through their site never heard anything and it is 3 days later. Also we got charged sales tax on a food To-Go order is that normal.
We live in downtown Sylvania and I want to like Grumpy’s, but cannot due to the high prices, average food, and lack of customer service on a management level.

My wife and I went for breakfast on Sunday morning and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. I always judge a breakfast place on their potatoes and these were perfect, nice and crispy without any undercooked pieces. I also love that they have weekend hours because I can never get to the downtown grumpy's during the week.

Stumbled across this place in our travels to see the eclipse. Very simple, borderline boring interior in an otherwise cute downtown looking district. Staff was attentive, our order came up quick and my burger was really good. The base price of the burger ($13) seemed fair but what was disappointing was the additional $3 for a slice of cheese to be added to the burger. We ended up spending $40 on a burger, chicken sandwich, a handful of chips and 2 waters which seemed more on par for an upscale restaurant than this place.

I got the Monte Cristo and it was very good. It wasn't very busy at 10:30 on a Sunday but the food took a little while to get to the table. The "art" on the wall was very unusual. Looks like a trash bag glued to the canvas and painted white.

Wow. This may be up there with my worst experience at a restaurant ever. We waited 15 mins to even see a server after seating ourselves. There weren't more than 4 tables including us the entire time and it was absolutely the worst service we have ever had. We ordered breakfast and we were told they were out of breakfast potatoes so we ordered a different breakfast dish, only to be told 10 minutes later they weren't serving breakfast. We then ordered lunch, and 15 minutes after we ordered she came to tell us they were out of corned beef. At this point, we asked for the bill to cover my son's food (thankfully he got to eat) and we were told they my husband's was already finished so we asked for it to go .... only to wait 20 more minutes for it to never come out. When it finally came out, the server gave a pathetic apology and kept saying how hectic it was ... with all of their 10 customers they had while we were there?!? Guess they didn't want to miss out on the $21 for a burger. We are so disappointed. Don't go here.
